SUMMARY:Direct Pay (Solar $ to Faith Communities) - Congressional Progressive Caucus Center & Lawyers for Good Gov.
DESCRIPTION:Heejin Hahn with the CPC (Congressional Progressive Caucus Center) spoke to the AZIPL Solar Action Team in December.  At that time she mentioned their Direct Pay Office Hours.  During the CPC Office Hours\, they bring in L4GG (Lawyers for Good Government) to answer questions about direct pay.\n\nThe next session is this Thursday Jan. 16\, 11:00 a.m. (AZ time).  Here is the registration link\, with more information and sign-ups for the following 4 sessions:  Feb. 13\, March 13\, and April 10.\n\nAdditional Resources are available from AZIPL staff upon request.  The information below is from the registration site and includes links that might be of particular assistance.\n**********************\n\n\n\nThank you for your interest in Direct Pay! We invite you to join our upcoming office hour session and bring your questions about Direct Pay. Our team will provide answers and relevant resources where we can. This is a space for CBOs\, local/state/Tribal governments\, schools\, houses of worship\, nonprofits\, and anyone else interested in learning about Direct Pay to share their clean energy project plans\, raise clarifying questions\, and talk through their roadblocks or concerns. All project stages are welcome! You do not need a concrete project plan to join. Please register below to attend.\n\nWe welcome everyone but do recommend that those who are new to Direct Pay check out this page on 101 level resources (https://www.lawyersforgoodgovernment.org/direct-pay-101).\nWe also encourage clicking through the L4GG Clean Energy Tax Navigator (https://cleanenergytaxnavigator.org/) and thinking about what questions you still have about Direct Pay before joining the session. This will help ensure that we use our session time most effectively.\n\nPlease note that while these monthly sessions generally occur around the same time of the month on Thursdays at 1:00pm ET\, we may shift a session depending on holidays or other events that month. Registering and adding zoom calendar automation will help ensure that you receive updates on any time changes. Please contact heejin@progressivecaucuscenter.org for more information\, assistance receiving the zoom link\, or accommodations that would better enable you to participate. These sessions are educational and do not serve as legal or tax advice.\n\n\nDate & Time

SUMMARY:AZIPL Meeting - Phoenix Metro Area
DESCRIPTION:“Hope is not the same thing as optimism.  It is not the conviction that something will turn out well\, but the certainty that something is worth doing\, regardless of how it turns out… This hope… gives us the strength to live and continually to try new things\, even in conditions that seem as hopeless as ours do\, here and now.” – Václav Havel\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs AZIPL plans for 2025 we commit to trying new things\, and leaning into some of the old things that work.  We want to support the work you do in your congregations\, help connect you to others\, and build coalitions for climate justice.  We will continue to build community and bridge divides among people who love our common home and care deeply for others. \nNow is the time\, more than ever\, to grow our movement.  We hope you will join us.  That could be gathering a S.A.G.E. team in your own congregation\, committing to more climate conversations\, or attending THIS\, our January AZIPL meetings* to plan for 2025!

As of late\, working with stories has\nkept her sane and grounded. She teaches Multi-Cultural Folktales\nfor the Storytelling Institute at South Mountain Community College\nin Phoenix\, Arizona\, and T’ai Chi for the Muhammed Ali Parkinson\nCenter\, discovering that the two arts\, have much in common. They\nboth help a person to discover what it means to be human. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRachelle Dart \nDart grew up on stories. Mythology was woven into the foundations\,\nfolklore on the walls like vines\, fairy tales dancing through the air\,\nand history walked the hall. Dart is performer and a traditional\nstoryteller trained by Liz Weir\, MBE. Still thriving on stories\, Dart is\ninspired by characters who endure hardship\, magical helpers\, gritty\ntruths\, and even if there is no happily ever after\, remind us to be\ndecent to each other; kindness prevails.
